Strengthening Medicare General Practice Grants 

How does the grant work?

Your practice will receive an application pack and invitation to apply from your local Primary Health Network. You will be given a pre-determined sum for which you’re eligible, ranging from $25,000 to $50,000 based on the size of the practice.

What is PracticeHub doing?

• We will be holding educational sessions to help practices identify how to efficiently use the grants
  
  
• Provide documentation to support practices to demonstrate how PracticeHub aligns with the grant streams
  
  

In addition, we will keep practices informed with updates.

What are the key dates for the grant?

• The grant will run from April 2023 to end of July 2024.
  
  
• Practices need to ensure that they submit their application to the PHN no later than 15 June 2023.

Are practices eligible to fund PracticeHub through the grant? 

• Yes, the grant can be used to fund PracticeHub - if you have PracticeHub already or are looking to start using it.
  
  
• PracticeHub supports all three areas of the grant funding, and most strongly aligns to stream 1 and 3.
  
  

1. Enhancing digital health capability – to fast-track the benefits of a more connected healthcare system in readiness to meet future standards;
   
   
2. Upgrading infection prevention and control arrangements – to support the safe, face to face assessment of patients with symptoms of potentially infectious respiratory diseases (e.g. COVID, influenza);
   
   
3. Maintaining or achieving accreditation against the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) Standards for General Practice (5th Edition), under the General Practice Accreditation Scheme – to promote quality and safety in general practice.
